Control your heating and hot water with your phone from anywhere and save up to £150 a year on your energy bills with Hive Active Heating from British Gas. Hive works with your existing gas or LPG heating system (and certain electric boilers) and you won’t even need to change your energy supplier.

Turn your heating on or off, up or down from your chosen device from anywhere with an internet connection. On iOS or Android smartphones and tablets, the Hive app gives you access to your heating systems, while computers can use the online dashboard to take control. You can even set a 4-digit PIN to prevent the kids from changing the temperature when they’re playing with your phone. If you don’t have internet access but want to change the temperature at home, you can also text Hive to change the temperature.

At home, you can use either the wireless thermostat on the wall or simply keep using your device to access it remotely. The wireless thermostat includes a backlight, so you can still see what you’re doing if it’s hidden in a cupboard and can be used to change the temperature or set schedules without the app.
